We met with these particular new clients, a young couple moving to Chappaqua from New York City, last April. They had just purchased a new home and planned to close in August. Yes, they had a two-year-old and, yes, they were welcoming their second child a month before moving day.
To complicate matters, their new home would need some renovation, particularly the kitchen, family room and children’s rooms. Anyone who has ever undergone a renovation knows that there’s a lot of legwork involved in the process, between making decisions and overseeing contractors. Try juggling that with naptime and nearly two hours of round trip travel.

First, we sat down and defined the scope and budget for the project. We then worked on color scheme and floor plans that accommodated existing furniture. We decided what new pieces should be purchased and made the appropriate arrangements.
When closing day came, every decision had been made and the next day, we were were ready for action. We arranged for and oversaw a paint crew, new flooring and carpeting and some light construction. We were on site when both the moving trucks and new furniture arrived and placed everything according to plan. Our new friends crossed the threshold of their beautiful home with every detail tended to and every item in place.
Now, that’s what we call moving day the Friedricks way!
