Buying a new home can be a burdensome financial proposition. Add to that the cost of moving and you’ll likely notice your depleted reserves before you’ve even begun to consider any updates or renovations to the new house. And then, there’s new furniture (or reupholstering the old), appliances and art. The good news is that you don’t have to do it all at once. Many families prefer to take their time.
This client moved to Chappaqua a year ago. They wanted to take it slowly, make good decisions and keep within budget. We started with a plan…a paint story for the whole house and floor plans for the main rooms.
Here is what we have accomplished:
The Master Bedroom:
We started with paint, ordered a new bed, bench and rug..recently added chandelier, art work and window treatments
The Children’s Rooms:
The first order of business was to paint, add blinds and beds. Then, we then added wall to wall carpeting, lighting art and mirrors.
Upstairs Hall and Home Office:
We added a runner and new chandelier in the upstairs hallway, adDesk and chair for home office. We also coordinated and measured for the photo wall.
Family Room:
We used existing sofa, added paint color, rug, lighting, accessory pillows and a new ottoman. High hats were installed. We then added and installed white wood blinds and recently installed two custom pieces of art from Randi Schneweiss.
We look forward to continuing the journey with these wonderful clients. Sometimes the best way to create the perfect home is to take your time.
