This spring, Alison Friedricks Interiors was hired to design and manage a project in Bedford, NY. The homeowners, both full-time working professionals, lived in Manhattan with their young son and newborn. We GC’d the entire project and, now that it’s finished, would love to show you the results.
THE PLAN: New Paint, carpeting, carpentry, stain floors, lighting, refresh bathrooms, add wallpaper, re-do closets, all new furniture for master bedroom, kitchen, family room.
MASTER BEDROOM
We brought a cool and sophisticated vibe to the master bedroom with new paint colors and carpet. The addition of a chandelier allows for perfect lighting, day or night, with a touch of romance. The closets were specifically designed to reflect the homeowners’ lifestyle while custom furnishings and bedding tied everything together luxuriously.
In the master bathroom, we painted the vanities, added new hardware and faucets and added vanity lighting and new shades. Take a look…(click to englarge each image).
THE KITCHEN
Everyone knows the kitchen is the most popular room in the house. Here, we repainted the cabinets and added new hardware. We upped the chic factor with stunning pendant lighting and found the perfect table, chairs and stools to encourage everyone to gather for endless quality family time.
THE FAMILY ROOM
While on the subject of gathering, we created the perfect space in the family room for relaxing and watching movies on the couch or entertaining friends. We chose a neutral hue for the walls, incorporated new furniture, lamps and a rug and had custom cabinetry built to accommodate the television.
THE MAIN HALLWAY
While not a room unto itself, the entryway of any home deserves special attention to create a welcoming environment and this home was no exception. We updated the paint, added new carpet and chose a chandelier to reflect the clean and sophisticated lines found throughout the home.
THE CHILDREN’S ROOMS
Children’s rooms need to be functional yet flexible enough to grow with the child. Gone are the days of hackneyed colors – today’s parents want sophistication and don’t skimp on style. We painted the nursery and chose wallpaper, added a chandelier, shades and furniture from Restoration Hardware Baby. Big brother’s room was designed to accommodate his existing furniture. We painted and papered, updated the carpet, and added shades to create a whole new look.
THE POWDER ROOM
Small in size but big in personality. In the powder room, we repainted the vanity and added new hardware and faucet, chose a new chandelier and vanity lights, re-tiled the shower and glazed the tub.
